In light of the events of recent years, i say it is time to pay special honour to those who act above and beyond the normal responsibilities of a citizen in upholding and promoting the fundamentals of the US Constitution. Five people would be selected each year to receive this honour. The honourees from the current year would submit 5 names for the next year. From this new list of 25, the current honourees select the next set of honourees. Each of the 5 would serve as Board members to an independent Constitutional oversight council. Although independent of any branch of government, this council would have a direct link website to WhiteHouse.gov. It would act as a citizen watch group. I propose 4 of the 5 of the first Council include: Kristen Breitweiser (and the Jersey Girls) Cindy Sheehan (and the Gold Star Families for Peace) Valerie Plame Helen Thomas
